INS Sagardhwani Docks at Port Klang for Bilateral Naval Engagements

Port Klang: Indian Navy’s oceanographic research vessel INS Sagardhwani arrived at Port Klang on May 13, 2026, as part of its ongoing South East Asia deployment. The ship was received by personnel of the Royal Malaysian Navy.

During the two-day stopover, teams from both navies are scheduled to take part in a series of professional exchanges, including cross-deck visits, training modules, and Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEE). Officials said the interactions are aimed at boosting bilateral maritime cooperation and strengthening scientific and operational linkages.

The visit marks INS Sagardhwani’s return to Port Klang after its 2019 scientific mission. The port call is being seen as another step in the growing maritime partnership between India and Malaysia, with both sides emphasizing their commitment to regional maritime security.
