Kolkata: Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Gujarat Titans by 29 runs in a high-scoring IPL encounter after posting a massive total of 247 runs.
Batting first, KKR put up a dominant performance with Finn Allen smashing 93 runs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi remained unbeaten on 82, while Cameron Green added a quick unbeaten 52 to power Kolkata to a huge score.
In reply, Gujarat Titans mounted a strong chase and stayed in contention till the 18th over. Captain Shubman Gill played a brilliant knock of 85 runs, while Jos Buttler scored 57 and Sai Sudarshan remained unbeaten on 53 despite suffering an injury.
However, Gujarat needed 45 runs from the final two overs, and the pressure proved too much as Kolkata tightened their bowling attack in the death overs.
Gujarat Titans eventually finished at 218 for 4 in 20 overs, falling short by 29 runs.
With the victory, Kolkata Knight Riders secured an important win in the tournament, while Gujarat suffered a disappointing defeat despite a strong batting effort.
