BJP-NDA Governments in Power Across 80% of India: Amit Shah

Gandhinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said BJP and NDA governments are ruling nearly 80% of the country, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the efforts of grassroots party workers for the alliance’s political expansion.

Speaking at a public gathering in Gandhinagar after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹620 crore, Shah said the BJP’s influence has spread across the country over the years.

“Just as the Ganga originates in Uttarakhand and flows to Bengal, BJP rule has expanded from Uttarakhand to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Bengal,” he said.

Shah noted that the NDA has returned to power at the Centre for a third consecutive term under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Highlighting the role of party workers, he said booth-level cadres were the backbone of BJP’s electoral success. “The real beneficiaries of every BJP victory are the party workers,” he added.

He also said BJP workers remain directly connected with people and actively respond to local issues, helping the party strengthen its presence across states.

Amit Shah said the BJP has evolved from a regional political outfit into a major national force because of people’s trust in its development-oriented governance model.
