Bengaluru: Congress leader B K Hariprasad has defended the party’s decision to expel Krupa Alva for six years, claiming that direct evidence against her warranted disciplinary action.
Speaking to reporters, Hariprasad said Alva had been issued a show-cause notice giving her three days to respond. However, the notice was returned and no explanation was received, following which the party decided to expel her.

He said the party had not rushed into action and had provided her an opportunity to present her side. Responding to reports that Alva had travelled abroad, Hariprasad said the matter would be handled by the relevant agencies.
Asked whether others were backing her, he said the issue had been left to the authorities.
