Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar felicitated Karnataka athletes Mohit H.S., Aditi Ashok, Poovamma, Ayush Shetty, Tilottama Sen, Shreyanka Patil and Sneha S.S. at Vidhana Soudha on Monday, honouring their achievements at the Asian Games.
Shivakumar said the athletes’ performances were a matter of pride for Karnataka and praised their hard work, determination and dedication to sport.
He said their achievements would inspire the younger generation to take up sports and pursue excellence. Shivakumar also expressed confidence that the athletes would achieve greater success on the international stage and bring further recognition to Karnataka and India.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the state government would continue to support sportspersons and provide encouragement and necessary assistance to talented athletes to help them pursue their careers and achieve further success.
Deputy Chief Minister and Sports and Youth Services Minister G. Parameshwara, Karnataka Olympic Association president K. Govindaraj, Commissioner of the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports M.N. Anuchet and others attended the event.
