New Delhi: BJP leader Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi has accused the Congress of undermining constitutional institutions through its political opposition, alleging that the party is creating an atmosphere of instability in the country.
Reacting to the conduct of Rahul Gandhi and his associates before the Supreme Court, Trivedi questioned whether the Congress was respecting the dignity of constitutional institutions. He also criticised the Kerala Congress for reportedly demanding the resignation of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, referring to him as “Dear Suryakant”.
Trivedi alleged that the Congress had repeatedly demanded the resignations of constitutional and government functionaries, citing the Chief Election Commissioner, Union home minister, Prime Minister and, now, the Chief Justice of India.

“What exactly does the Congress want?” he asked, alleging that targeting constitutional authorities in the name of political opposition was a matter of serious concern for democracy.
In a sharp attack on the opposition party, Trivedi described the Congress as the “Maoist Congress of the Muslim League” and accused it of pursuing what he termed “brainy Naxalism” to weaken constitutional institutions and create disorder across the country.
He further alleged that the Congress and Rahul Gandhi, as Leader of the Opposition, had become a major threat to India’s constitutional institutions and the Constitution itself.
The remarks reflect the BJP leader’s criticism of the Congress amid the ongoing political confrontation over the functioning and dignity of constitutional institutions.
