Pralhad Joshi slams Kharge’s remarks against PM Modi, accuses Congress of lowering political discourse

NEW DELHI: Union minister Pralhad Joshi has strongly criticised Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge over his controversial remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing the opposition party of undermining India’s political culture.

Reacting to Kharge’s statement, Joshi alleged that Congress leaders were increasingly using inappropriate language out of frustration and under the influence of Rahul Gandhi. His remarks have added to the ongoing political confrontation between the BJP and the Congress.

Speaking to the media in Delhi, Joshi said the BJP had initially believed that Rahul Gandhi alone was immature, but claimed that other Congress leaders had also begun displaying similar behaviour.

“We thought only Rahul Gandhi was immature in the Congress party. But now, along with him, everyone has become immature, frustrated and disappointed,” Joshi said, according to news agency IANS.

He further alleged that such statements reflected a decline in political standards and were damaging the country’s political culture.

‘Congress leaders follow Rahul Gandhi’

Joshi claimed that Rahul Gandhi’s influence extended from the Congress’s national leadership to its state presidents, with leaders adopting similar language and political positions.

He also referred to remarks previously made by the Karnataka Congress president, alleging that the language used by Congress leaders followed a similar pattern.

“From the national president to several state presidents, everyone is using the same kind of language,” Joshi said, alleging that the leaders were influenced by Rahul Gandhi and followed his approach.

Kharge’s remarks against Modi have triggered a political controversy, with BJP leaders condemning the statement and demanding a public apology.

The latest exchange is expected to intensify the war of words between the ruling BJP and the Congress, with both parties continuing to trade accusations over political conduct and public discourse.
