India Post Partners With Blue Dart to Expand Parcel Deliveries Nationwide

New Delhi: The Department of Posts has partnered with Blue Dart Express Limited to expand parcel delivery services across India, combining the postal network’s extensive reach with the logistics company’s delivery capabilities.

The agreement was signed in New Delhi on October 9, 2026, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.

Under the partnership, Blue Dart will leverage India Post’s network of 1.64 lakh post offices to extend parcel delivery services across urban, semi-urban and rural areas, including remote and underserved regions.

The services will cover prepaid and cash-on-delivery (COD) parcels, OTP-based delivery authentication and real-time shipment tracking. The agreement also aims to improve delivery speed, operational coordination and technology integration.

The collaboration is expected to strengthen logistics infrastructure for India’s growing e-commerce sector, particularly by improving access to delivery services in areas with limited logistics connectivity.

For Blue Dart, access to India Post’s extensive network is expected to widen its delivery reach and help it serve customers in remote locations more effectively.

The Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, expects the tie-up to generate additional parcel volumes, create business opportunities and strengthen its engagement with organised logistics providers. The partnership could also help the department adopt operational practices from an established express logistics company.

The Department of Posts operates the world’s largest postal network and provides communication, logistics and financial services across India. Blue Dart Express Limited provides express logistics and distribution services, including e-commerce and time-sensitive deliveries.
