Tehran: Iran and Oman have held talks on restoring shipping through the Strait of Hormuz amid regional tensions.
Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi discussed maritime security, uninterrupted navigation and efforts to ease tensions during a phone conversation.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard claimed that three vessels, including two supertankers, caught fire in the strategic waterway. It alleged that an oil tanker travelling along an unauthorised route struck a naval mine, triggering a blaze. A tugboat that arrived to assist also reportedly caught fire.
