Karnataka blast investigation hinges on forensic report, says Priyank Kharge

Bengaluru: Police are awaiting a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report to establish the cause of the explosion at an under-construction building in Pulakeshinagar on October 20. Investigators are examining whether an improvised explosive device (IED) was used or whether the blast was triggered by batteries.

The explosion occurred around 2.30 pm at a five-storey building, leaving two workers injured. A case has been registered at the Pulakeshinagar police station, and authorities have inspected the site and collected evidence. The Anti-Terror Cell (ATC) and local police are continuing the investigation.

Minister Priyank Kharge said all samples had been sent for forensic analysis. “We are looking into this. All samples have been sent for forensic analysis. We will provide further details once the report is received,” he said.

Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has reportedly taken note of the incident and sought details of the investigation from the police. Further action is expected after the forensic report provides greater clarity on the nature and cause of the explosion.
