‘No Plan to Create New Peeth’; Move Aimed at Resolving Harihar Peeth Dispute: Yatnal

Hubballi: BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal has clarified that there is no proposal to establish or revive any new Peeth, stating that the focus is only on strengthening and improving the existing monasteries.

Speaking after a meeting held at a private hotel in Hubballi, Yatnal said discussions were conducted with both groups involved in the Harihar Peeth dispute in an effort to bring about a resolution.

He said disagreements had emerged on several matters, including trust accounts, and certain incidents had created confusion and affected the community. In this backdrop, efforts were made to build coordination and understanding between both sides.

“About 90 per cent of the issue has been resolved. Along with the Harihar Peeth issue, the Kudalasangama Peeth dispute will also be settled,” Yatnal said.

He added that talks are continuing to bridge differences between the two factions and that steps are being taken to remove misunderstandings that have arisen within the community.
