Bengaluru: Train services on the Purple Line of Namma Metro have returned to normal after a technical fault near Cubbon Park Metro Station disrupted operations and affected thousands of commuters.
The disruption occurred on Tuesday evening when a fault developed in the current collector shoe of the Metro’s third-rail power supply system near Cubbon Park station. The issue impacted train movement between Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station Majestic and M.G. Road Metro Station, leading to delays and inconvenience for passengers travelling on the Kadugodi–Challaghatta corridor.
Technical teams from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited worked through the night to restore the system and successfully rectified the fault by around 3.30 am on Wednesday.
Following the repairs, Metro operations resumed as per schedule from 5 am, with services running normally across the entire Purple Line connecting Kadugodi and Challaghatta.
Officials said the issue had been fully resolved and that commuters were able to use the Metro network without disruption during the morning rush hour. The restoration of services has brought relief to thousands of daily passengers who rely on the Purple Line for travel across the city.
