Rahul Gandhi Thanks Protesters, Vows INDIA Bloc Will Not Back Down

New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday thanked protesters, INDIA bloc leaders and party workers for participating in the ‘Dilli Chalo’ march, asserting that the opposition would continue its campaign to protect democracy and the Constitution.

Addressing participants after the protest, Gandhi also thanked millions of people who had expressed support at 3 pm, along with civil society organisations that joined the demonstration.

He said the protest was intended to send a message that the people of India would not be intimidated or threatened into silence.

Targeting the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Gandhi questioned the absence of its members during the protest and referred to alleged incidents in which young people were beaten two days earlier. He accused the RSS and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of relying on intimidation and the use of power.

Gandhi stressed that the demonstration represented a united opposition movement rather than separate protests by individual parties. He said INDIA bloc leaders and workers would continue to stand together against what he described as threats to the Constitution and democracy.

Expressing pride in the participation and coordination of protesters, Gandhi thanked citizens for taking to the streets to defend democratic values and the idea of India.

“We’re not going to back down,” he said, reaffirming the opposition’s resolve to continue its campaign.
