Sudhanshu Trivedi Accuses INDIA Bloc, Left Parties of Pushing ‘Regime Change’ Narrative

New Delhi: BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi has targeted the INDIA bloc and Left parties over their protests and the use of the term “regime change” in Indian politics, alleging that sections of the opposition are attempting to undermine the government through means beyond democratic political competition.

Trivedi drew a distinction between a change of government through democratic elections and what he described as alleged conspiracies to topple regimes. He questioned the opposition’s public support and challenged the turnout at a protest held at Connaught Place in Delhi.

The BJP MP raised concerns over demonstrations in central Delhi during the festive shopping season, asking whether protests in busy commercial areas could disrupt economic activity.

Invoking former prime ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, Trivedi criticised the protesters and questioned the broader objectives of the opposition-led demonstrations.

He alleged that a movement which initially focused on examination reforms had shifted its agenda and was now attempting to harm the country’s economy.

Trivedi urged young people to examine the implications of the protests and understand what he described as a change in their objectives.
