Mumbai: The upcoming pan-India film Swayambhu is drawing attention for its large-scale production design, with the makers unveiling details of its expansive sets as shooting progresses.
Produced by Pixel Studios, the film is slated for a worldwide release in the summer of 2026 and is expected to stand out for its visual spectacle.
Director Bharat Krishnamachari said the film has been conceptualised across three distinct worlds, each designed with a unique aesthetic. A full-scale village set has been constructed over 6–8 acres in Janwada, Hyderabad, with the build taking around 40–45 days. He added that the team focused heavily on realism and intricate detailing.
Another set, linked to the heroine’s storyline, has been developed separately with a distinct visual identity, despite originating from the same base design.
Highlighting the technical aspects, the director said a massive bridge set—measuring around 11–12 feet in width and 100 feet in length—was created and filmed using bluemat technology. For the climax, the team also built a large mountain backdrop along with pathways to enhance the scale and cinematic impact.
The makers said the emphasis on detailed world-building and large sets is aimed at delivering a visually immersive experience for audiences.
