Mangaluru: The Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple in Mangaluru witnessed a grand celebration of Varamahalakshmi Puja on Friday, with thousands of women participating in the special rituals and seeking the blessings of the deity.
The puja was organised by the temple administration committee. The day’s rituals began with a special abhisheka to Sri Annapoorneshwari Devi in the morning.

This was followed by the installation of sacred kalashas at the Sri Gokarnanatha Kalyana Mantapa, chanting of Lalitha Sahasranama, bhajans and the Varamahalakshmi Puja.
A mahapuja was performed in the afternoon, following which prasada was distributed among devotees.
Women who participated in the Varamahalakshmi Puja were presented with bagina by the temple administration committee as part of the celebrations.

Around 10,000 devotees are estimated to have received annaprasada during the programme.
Temple administration committee president Jairaj H Somansundaram, treasurer Padmaraj R Poojary, trustees Santosh J Poojary, Sairam H S, Kishore Dandekeri and Krithin Dheeraj Amin, development committee vice-president Dr B G Suvarna, and members P K Gowravi Rajshekhar and Latheesh Suvarna were among those present.
