Bengaluru: Hebbal Police have busted an alleged hydro ganja supply operation and arrested a 36-year-old man while seizing 3.18 kg of the banned substance.
The operation was carried out after police received specific information on June 4 about a person allegedly selling hydro ganja near Pilekamma Temple on Guddadahalli Main Road. The accused was reportedly carrying the contraband in a college bag.
Acting on the tip-off, a police team conducted a raid and detained the suspect. During a search of the bag, officials recovered 3 kg 180 grams of hydro ganja.
The accused, identified as Imran Pasha alias Chela Imran (36), allegedly told police during questioning that the drug was being brought from Nashik in Maharashtra and sold in Bengaluru.

Police arrested the accused, produced him before the court and he has been remanded to judicial custody. Officials said previous cases related to theft, the Arms Act and the NDPS Act have been registered against him at various police stations.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Bengaluru North Division Deputy Commissioner of Police B.S. Nemagowda, with a team led by J.C. Nagar Sub-Division Assistant Commissioner of Police K.S. Tannir, Hebbal Police Inspector Bhaira and Sub-Inspector Vinod Jiragale.
Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh appreciated the team for the successful operation and directed officers to investigate the wider network behind the alleged drug supply chain.
