Islamabad: At least seven people were killed and three others injured in two separate explosions in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday, according to local media reports.
The blasts occurred in the Marka Bera area of Bannu district’s Wazir subdivision, a semi-tribal mountainous region near the country’s northwestern border.
About a kilometre away, a second blast targeted another vehicle, leaving two people dead. Witnesses said the vehicle caught fire and was extensively damaged following the explosion.
Authorities have not yet identified those responsible for the attacks, and an investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the twin blasts.
