Nagpur: NTPC Mouda has commenced the installation of solar panels for its 1.4 MW ground-mounted solar power plant, marking a key milestone in its renewable energy expansion programme.
The installation work began on June 24 following the completion of the project’s superstructure. A special ceremony was held at the project site to mark the occasion in the presence of NTPC Mouda Executive Director Joseph Bastian, General Manager (O&M) S.C. Das, senior NTPC officials and representatives of Kirloskar.
The solar project is part of NTPC’s broader commitment to sustainable development and aligns with the Centre’s vision of increasing the share of clean and green energy in India’s power generation mix.
Once commissioned, the plant is expected to strengthen NTPC Mouda’s renewable energy portfolio and contribute to environmentally sustainable power generation. The project will also support the company’s efforts to integrate renewable energy into its operations while promoting responsible growth.
Officials said the commencement of solar panel installation is a significant step towards the timely completion of the project and reflects NTPC’s continued focus on adopting cleaner energy solutions.
The initiative is expected to contribute to India’s transition towards a greener and more sustainable energy future.
