Actor and directorRavichandran Inaugurates Srirangapatna Dasara

Srirangapatna: Veteran actor and director V. Ravichandran inaugurated the cultural programmes of Srirangapatna Dasara, a festival whose origins date back to 1610 and which later extended to Mysuru.

Mandya district in-charge minister N. Chaluvarayaswamy highlighted the significance of Ravichandran inaugurating this year’s celebrations.

Recalling his association with Kannada cinema personalities, Chaluvarayaswamy became emotional while speaking about legendary actor Dr. Rajkumar, saying they would watch him from a distance with folded hands in the past.

He described actors Ambareesh, Vishnuvardhan and Ravichandran as family friends and expressed deep sadness over the deaths of Ambareesh and Vishnuvardhan.

During the event, the minister felicitated achievers from various fields before taking a seat in front of the stage to watch the cultural programmes.

As the cultural performances began, rain started falling, creating a memorable atmosphere as music blended with the sound of the showers.

The downpour intensified after Chaluvarayaswamy remarked that the Dasara celebrations had begun with prayers for rain, particularly in the Cauvery command area.

The rainfall added to the festive spirit in Srirangapatna, bringing cheer to the celebrations.
