Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Congress has accused the state police of acting at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s behest, alleging that false FIRs are being filed against Congress leaders and workers to harass them.
In a statement, the party alleged that the police were adopting authoritarian tactics and attempting to suppress opposition voices through the misuse of power.

Protesting against what it described as a repressive approach, Congress workers raised their concerns outside the Gujarat Police headquarters under the leadership of state Congress president Amit Chavda.
The party asserted that such actions would not deter its leaders and workers from speaking out against alleged injustice. It also warned the BJP that attempts to silence dissent through the use of state power would not succeed.
