Chennai: Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Khalifa, directed by Vysakh, has received a U/A 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), clearing the film for worldwide theatrical release on August 20.
Prithviraj announced the update on social media, confirming that the much-awaited trailer will be released on August 16. He will play Aamir Ali in the action-revenge thriller.
The film also stars Mohini as Noorjahan, Kyraa Vasudevan as Vyshanavi, Master Nafash as Rushin, Shammi Thilakan as Raghavan and Shine Varghese as Sudhip.
The makers wrapped up shooting in June, with several important sequences filmed in Dubai earlier this year.
The film has already generated considerable buzz among Prithviraj fans. Sharing the trailer announcement on X, Prithviraj said, “The #KHALIFA trailer” will arrive on August 16, while Aamir Ali will make his worldwide theatrical debut on August 20.
