Bengaluru: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has urged the State Chief Electoral Officer to provide free printed copies of the 2002 electoral rolls of all 224 Assembly constituencies in Karnataka to ensure effective participation in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and verification of voter details.
KPCC Media and Communication Department President and Legislative Council Member Ramesh Babu has submitted a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer in this regard, seeking the necessary documents to ensure transparency and accuracy in the electoral process.
The KPCC has requested copies of the 2002 voter lists of all Assembly constituencies, the latest 2025 electoral rolls, and supplementary documents related to additions, deletions and corrections in the voter database. It has also sought copies of guidelines and notifications issued regarding the SIR process.
Ramesh Babu said that these documents are essential for comparative verification of voter details, identification of missing names or duplicate entries, and effective coordination with election officials during the revision process.
He said electoral rolls are public documents and recognised political parties have an important role in the voter registration and verification process.
In the interest of free and fair elections, the KPCC has requested that the documents be provided to the party free of cost, enabling it to actively participate in the SIR exercise.
