Indore: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Monday began its annual All India Executive Committee meeting at Daly College in Indore, with chief Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale inaugurating the proceedings.
The meeting opened with floral tributes to Bharat Mata. Senior RSS functionaries, including all Sah-Sarkaryavahs, office-bearers, regional and state-level leaders, pracharaks and representatives of organisations inspired by the Sangh, are attending the gathering.

At the beginning of the meeting, Hosabale paid tribute to prominent personalities and RSS workers who passed away in recent months. Those remembered included actor Nana Patekar, singer Asha Bhosle, saint Ramesh Baba, former Vivekananda Kendra president Balakrishnan, journalist Virag Pachpor and senior RSS pracharak Vinod Kumar, among others.
The organisation said Hosabale would issue three statements during the meeting, marking the 200th birth anniversary of Rajnarayan Basu, the centenary of Swami Shraddhanand’s sacrifice and the 100th birth anniversary of Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati, who worked among tribal communities in Odisha’s Kandhamal district.
