Lucknow: Captain Shreyas Iyer smashed an unbeaten 102 as India cruised to an eight-wicket victory over the West Indies in the opening T20I in Lucknow on Tuesday.
Iyer’s maiden T20I century headlined a dominant Indian chase as the hosts took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
Making his T20I debut, Naman Dhir delivered an impressive performance with the ball, claiming three wickets for 31 runs. Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel chipped in with two wickets each to restrict the West Indies.

Sherfane Rutherford top-scored for the visitors with 56, while Shai Hope contributed 52.
India’s bowlers kept the West Indies under pressure before Iyer took charge of the chase with an unbeaten century, guiding the hosts comfortably across the finish line.
The match marked the beginning of the five-match T20I series between the two sides.
