Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Starlink and Starshield satellite communication speeds in Ukraine have returned to pre-restriction levels, thanking the United States and other partner nations for their support.
In a post on X, Zelenskyy stressed that reliable communications were essential for frontline logistics and defence operations, including efforts to counter Russia’s jet-powered Shahed drones.
He said he had discussed the restoration of Starlink services with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Talks with Washington are also continuing on early warning systems for Russian ballistic missile attacks and support for missile interception capabilities.
US military assistance, intelligence sharing and satellite communications remain important to Ukraine’s defence, Zelenskyy said.
