Batting first in the Super Over, Sri Lanka ‘A’ scored 16 runs, setting India a target of 17. Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Suryansh Shedge took the crease for India but were unable to chase down the total, with India falling short by seven runs.
Following Sri Lanka’s victory, celebrations on the field reportedly led to an exchange of words between Suryavanshi and Halambage. According to reports, the Indian batter reacted to comments made by the Sri Lankan player, leading to a verbal altercation.
The confrontation briefly escalated, with players from both sides coming together as tensions rose. Senior Sri Lankan cricketer Niroshan Dickwella and other players intervened to separate the duo and calm the situation before it worsened.
