Chennai: The much-awaited film featuring Tamil actor Dhanush and Malayalam superstar Mammootty has been titled ‘Om’.
Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on October 16, 2026. The makers have also added the tagline ‘Chapter 1’, hinting at a possible sequel.
The teaser showcases the lives of red sandalwood workers, with Dhanush appearing as a tree cutter. The visuals show him attempting to rescue illegal sandalwood workers after police surround them, setting the tone for a high-voltage action drama.
The production team said the film is among the biggest-budget projects of Dhanush’s career and will feature the actor in a powerful mass-action avatar.
The film stars Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela in the lead roles. The music has been composed by Sai Abhyankkar, while cinematography is handled by Elil Arasu. The film is jointly produced by Wunderbar Films and R Take Studios.
