New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday said the peace and security of the national capital would not be compromised for political interests, criticising Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal and the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) amid ongoing protests in the city.
In a post on X, Gupta said her government would firmly oppose what she described as attempts to create anarchy in the name of democracy. “We will not let Delhi become a hostage to anyone,” she said.
Alleging that Gandhi and Kejriwal had joined hands with the CJP, Gupta accused them of attempting to turn the capital into a centre of conflict. She questioned whether political ambitions were being prioritised over the concerns of office-goers, daily wage workers and patients travelling to hospitals.

Gupta said Delhi’s residents had voted for development and argued that political parties should respect the public mandate. She also criticised what she termed dynastic and opportunistic politics, alleging that some parties were unable to accept electoral outcomes.
The chief minister further accused Kejriwal of attempting to disturb public peace for political gains and described the Abhijit Dipke-led CJP as the AAP’s “B-team”.
Her remarks came amid protests in Delhi over demands for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation and allegations concerning the electoral roll revision process.
