New Delhi: Five states — Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Nagaland and Rajasthan — were felicitated by the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) for their exceptional contribution towards DigiLocker integration and digital governance initiatives.
The recognition was given during the National Consultative Workshop on Strengthening Cybersecurity Frameworks for State Data held on May 11. The awards were presented by Joint Secretary, Digital Governance Division, MeitY and NeGD President & CEO Shri Nand Kumarum.
According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the states were recognised for successfully integrating DigiLocker with multiple government services, helping citizens access documents digitally and reducing the need for physical verification.
Karnataka was recognised for onboarding 73 percent of government e-services and registering over 2.7 crore DigiLocker users. The state also digitised nearly 3 crore electricity bill records by integrating all five DISCOMs.
Gujarat onboarded 65 percent of services and expanded the digital ecosystem to over 1.92 crore citizens. The state was also appreciated for enabling digital disability certificates for free bus transport services.
Kerala integrated more than 117 services within seven days and currently serves over 1.15 crore registered users.
Nagaland, recognised as a “Digital Rising State,” integrated more than 32 services within a month through both issuer and requester models.
Rajasthan implemented the Family Register Jan Aadhaar integration through DigiLocker, benefiting more than 7.5 crore citizens.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Nand Kumarum said secure and citizen-centric digital platforms like DigiLocker are important for achieving trusted digital governance in the country.
