PM Modi Invites Swedish Firms to Expand Investments in India

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday interacted with select Swedish CEOs along with Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Crown Princess Victoria, highlighting the growing economic partnership between India and Sweden.

During the interaction, PM Modi said India and Sweden are connected by shared values such as democracy, transparency, innovation and sustainability, which provide a strong foundation for deeper economic cooperation.

He said the India-Sweden relationship is not limited to trade and investment alone, but is also a partnership based on technology, innovation and co-creation. The Prime Minister appreciated the longstanding contribution of Swedish companies to India’s growth and encouraged greater collaboration in research, manufacturing, innovation and green transition initiatives.

Highlighting India’s rapid economic transformation, Modi pointed to reforms, strong domestic demand, digital public infrastructure, manufacturing expansion and large-scale infrastructure development as key growth drivers.

He invited Swedish companies to increase their presence in India through initiatives such as ‘Make in India’, the National Green Hydrogen Mission and the National Critical Mineral Mission. He also identified sectors including clean energy, defence, semiconductors and advanced manufacturing as major areas of opportunity.

The discussions also focused on strengthening cooperation in resilient supply chains, sustainable mobility, life sciences, green transition and digital technologies.

PM Modi said combining Sweden’s strengths in innovation and sustainability with India’s scale, talent and growth momentum could help create solutions for the future.
