Washington: US President Donald Trump has reiterated that Iran will not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons under any circumstances, stressing that any future agreement with Tehran must permanently block its path to developing a nuclear arsenal.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said the United States would achieve its objective “one way or another,” either through diplomacy or, if required, military action.

“Iran cannot have nuclear weapons. Almost everybody agrees with that,” Trump said, adding that he was confident the Strait of Hormuz would soon be fully open to global shipping traffic.
The US President also renewed his criticism of the nuclear deal negotiated during former President Barack Obama’s administration, claiming it created a pathway for Iran to eventually obtain nuclear weapons.
“I terminated that deal. Any new agreement will ensure that Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon,” Trump asserted.
Defending previous US military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, Trump said the targeted sites had been “completely destroyed.”
He further warned Tehran against any attack on American forces, saying Iran would face a “strong response” if such an action were taken.
At the same time, Trump indicated that Washington remains open to dialogue, stating that he would be willing to engage with Iran’s new leadership if necessary.
The remarks come amid ongoing negotiations over Iran’s nuclear programme and heightened concerns over security and stability in the Middle East, drawing renewed international attention to US-Iran relations.
